Salvadoran kitchen

A little taste of El Salvador. A whole lot of comfort.

Handmade pupusas, a pot of Salvadoran bean soup, and traditional breakfasts — warm food from a neighborhood kitchen.

Pupusas

Golden masa, shaped by hand and griddled until the edges blister. Cheese, beans, or both, finished with curtido and salsa.

Salvadoran bean soup

A comforting bowl of Salvadoran beans, slow-simmered and meant to be lingered over. The kitchen will confirm the preparation. No meat is assumed.

Salvadoran breakfasts

A generous morning plate: eggs, beans, sweet plantains, cheese, crema, and warm tortillas. The full breakfast list is still being confirmed.

Our kitchen

A kitchen built around the griddle.

Carlos Kitchen is a pupusería for Salvadoran food cooked plainly and well. The table centers on three things: pupusas from the comal, a bowl of bean soup, and breakfast that takes its time.

Nothing here needs to be dressed up. The pleasure is the blistered masa, the warmth of the soup, and a plate that actually fills you.
